The first images of the forthcoming Sprint version of the HTC Hero have been revealed on a Chinese blog. The Sprint variant of the Hero will dispense with the reference design language of the GSM version and follow HTC’s more conservative and current designs. In terms of technical specifications the device features nearly identical specifications to the GSM version save for the radio supporting EVDO Rev A. instead of GSM/UMTS with a 528 MHz processor, 288 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5.0 megapixel camera with auto focus and video recorder, along with Android. LG planned to release its LG GW880 smartphone with China Mobile’s OPhone OS. The OPhone OS is based on Android OS, featuring iPhone-like interface and the company’s mobile software store called Mobile Market. OPhone SDK is compatible with Android SDK, Android software can be easily used on OPhone platform with the same API.The LG GW880 supports China’s 3G connection (TD-SCDMA)/EDGE, comes with a 3.5-inch touch screen, WVGA resolution, 512 MB ROM/256MB RAM, GPS, Bluetooth and 5 megapixel camera.
